Blair County Historical Society
"The Blair County Historical Society was chartered on July 23, 1906 as a non-profit association open to all persons interested in preserving the history of Blair County. Since its inception, the society has taken an active role in preserving and interpreting this region's heritage, through marking sites of historical significance, publishing books and pamphlets on local history, and collecting and preserving artifacts relevant to the heritage of the area's people."

 

Blair County Genealogical Society
"The Blair County Genealogical Society was organized in 1979 exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. Its purpose is to compile, study and exchange information of a genealogical and historical nature and to preserve, perpetuate and publish the genealogical and historical heritage of the Blair County area for the benefit of its members, schools, and the general public."

 

Fort Roberdeau
"Fort Roberdeau Historic Site and Natural Area is located near Altoona in Blair County, Pennsylvania. The rural 230-acre tract features a reconstructed Revolutionary War stockade surrounding six log cabins. It also includes an 1858 barn containing exhibits and a museum shop, an education center in an 1860 farmhouse, three nature trails, picnic facilities, and White Oak Hall, a large multipurpose facility."

 

Allegheny Ridge Corporation
"The Allegheny Ridge Corporation (ARCorp) was created to manage the Allegheny Ridge Heritage Area, which was designated by the Commonwealth in 1992, in a cooperative program involving all levels of government and the private sector. The Allegheny Ridge Corporation is a private, non-profit corporation that develops, interprets, and restores the historic, cultural, and natural resources of the Allegheny Ridge Heritage Area in central/western PA (specifically Blair, Cambria, Somerset, and Huntingdon Counties). Allegheny Ridge Heritage Area will soon expand its service area to include those counties that fall within the 320-mile corridor of one of its projects."
